Reason #42 to have stayed in bed today:
Thursday, September 21st, 2006
I got into a car accident.
On my lunchbreak.
Right next to the office.
Sigh.
Verbena?

There must be a new perfume out, something in every magazine or pushed at every cosmetics counter or endorsed by a very popular celebrity.
Because every single last woman I go anywhere near is wearing it. Patients, checkout ladies, shoppers, the mail lady.
Please don’t misunderstand me, I am all for folks smelling pretty. Good scents are a good thing. And I myself love perfume. It’s one of my favorite things to receive as a gift. I don’t get to wear it very often, working in healthcare and all, but there’s very little else that makes me feel as pretty and grown up and sexy. I get it. I understand. Perfume is fun.
However, this particular perfume is very, um, shall I say, cloying? Very sweet and sticky and lemony. And all the ladies I run into seem to have taken a bath in it.
Frankly, it makes me ill. So I now feel ill whenever I go anywhere that women are.
And I have no actual end to this anecdote, except to perhaps suggest that if you decide to try whatever perfume this is, for my nose’s sake, please start out with a small amount.
It seems to be quite powerful.
